Crochet Hook: Size E-4 US (3.5mm).
Yarn: Acrylic worsted weight. Yardages are approximate:
CH: Chain.
INVDEC: Invisible decrease: Insert the hook through the front loop of st and then through the front loop of the next st. Yarn over and pull yarn through both front loops. Yarn over and pull through both loops on hook.
MR (Make ring): Make a loop by putting the yarn tail behind the yarn from the skein. Leave a 4" (10cm) tail. Using the hook, pull the working yarn through the loop, leaving a loop now on the hook.
RND: Round.
SC: Single crochet.

Starting at bottom of bottle with E-4/3.5mm hook and DARK GREEN, mr.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in ring, pull starting ring closed. (7 sts)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc. (14 sts)
Rnd 3: Inc 7 sc evenly spaced. (21 sts)
Rnds 4, 5 & 6: Inc 7 sc evenly spaced. (28 sts)
Continuing in GOLD:
Rnd 7: Sc in each sc. (28 sts)
Continuing in White:
Rnds 8, 9 & 10: Sc in each sc. (28 sts)
Continuing in GOLD:
Rnd 11: Sc in each sc. (28 sts)
Continuing in DARK GREEN:
Rnds 12, 13 & 14: Sc in each sc. (28 sts)

Stuff bottle & neck firmly. Cut yarn leaving 8" (20cm) tail. Weave in ends. Thread additional piece of yarn through bottom ring to stitch at back of Rnd 11, pull to create small indent at base. Repeat. Weave through stitches to secure.
CORK
Cork is worked in a continuous spiral. Do not join rnds. You may wish to use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of a rnd.
Starting at bottom of bottle with E-4/3.5mm hook and GOLD, mr.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in ring, pull starting ring closed. (6 sts)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc. (12 sts)
Rnd 3: Sc in back loop of each sc.
Rnd 4: Sc in each sc.
Cut yarn & weave in ends. Place cork on top of bottle as shown in Diagram 1 and sew to bottle.
Attaching Parts: Attach bottle cork with matching yarn or embroidery floss as indicated in DIAGRAM 1. Thread yarn through bottom to back of bottle, pull to create a small indent at base and repeat if necessary until bottle stands. Using pattern pieces, cut out two eyes from black felt. Separate one strand from black embroidery floss and attach eyes with applique stitch as shown in DIAGRAM 1. Using three strands of embroidery floss, back stitch mouth as shown. Using three strands of white embroidery floss, make a french knot and straight stitch for each eye.
